Goering & Slinkard, a busy multi-county practice located in historic Medicine Lodge, Kansas, is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated associate attorney to join the firm. An attorney joining our firm will be able to enjoy the qualities of small town life with challenges of a multi-faceted practice.

 

Graduating law students are also encouraged to apply.  The ideal candidate will possess:

• J.D. or J.D. Candidate 2024

• Kansas license required or eligible upon passing the Bar

 

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

​

• Prepares and drafts legal documents for filing with appropriate entities and necessary correspondence

• Drafts pleadings and motions, including judgments and orders

• Corresponds with attorneys, court personnel, and clients regarding cases

• Interviews witnesses for court cases and prepares witnesses to testify

• Shall ensure the accuracy of all documents prepared

• Shall promptly appear in court on all cases assigned

• Shall handle all aspects of cases assigned to them

• Performs administrative duties as necessary, including filing, mailing, organizing files and pleadings

• Conducts legal research for particular issues

• Adheres to the highest ethical standards

Salary range based on experience plus opportunity for discretionary bonuses and other incentives.​
